Oatlands Rural Youth Drought Relief

Oatlands Rural Youth Club proudly presents the Drought Busters Bash, an over 18yo charity event with live music, barbeque and bar. All profits from the event will be donated to the Country Women’s Association to pass on to the drought affected farming families in the southern midlands.

The Drought Busters Bash will be held at “Huntworth,” Bentwick St. Oatlands on Saturday the 21st of February with the gates open from 6:30pm.

Oatlands Rural Youth Club will “bust out for the drought” and put on a massive night to provide the locals with some entertainment as well as do their bit to alleviate the plight the southern midlands farming community is in.

Drought Busters Bash co-organiser, James McShane says: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Oatlands Rural Youth to support the community that supports us.”

“This drought which has been ravaging many parts of Tasmania over the last 4 years has not broken, so its important that we do something to maintain public awareness of the situation as well as help the community in a tangible way.” Mr McShane adds.

The night air will be filled with the sound of bands “Captain Jack” and “The Charlie Harris Band” on Drought Busters night and with any luck it might help shake a few drops of water out of the clouds!

Applications are now open for Emergency Assistance Grants and Community Infrastructure Grants through the CWA, for more information call 1800 237 876
